Hair care trends

Hello friends! Today I bring you part 2 of our beauty trends, focusing on hair care. Remember, this is just what I highlight as a consumer on social media and in the market, but I’m just another enthusiast talking with others who share the same passion for the topic. The texts are purely subjective, the result of my opinion, and of course, without any scientific evidence behind them! That said, I hope you really enjoy!

Love and Hate for Silicones: Which Side Are You On?
That’s right, and that whole “paraben-free, silicone-free, etc.” label has been heavily used in the world of marketing and advertising to justify price hikes and position products in a higher category. But do we really know whether they’re good or bad for us? I keep asking professionals about the subject and, honestly, I encounter people who argue that they clog the hair follicle while others say they’re necessary to hydrate the hair cuticle. Whatever the case, keep in mind there are many versions out there!

Hair Oiling – Not Just for the Ends!
Oil for the ends is known for hydrating and preventing hair breakage, but on the scalp? That’s right! In recent years, concerns about hair loss have boomed, with products on the market such as hair vitamins popping up. Hair oiling involves applying a few drops of oil (one designed specifically for this, like Resomary’s) to the scalp, massaging it in, and letting it work for about 30 minutes. In theory, practicing this regularly will improve your hair’s health. I’m just sharing what I’ve seen—I’m not a professional.

Scalp Health
Building on that, it’s not just oils being used—people are also buying massagers, LED lights, exfoliants, and more.

Heat Protectors
It’s really important to shield our hair from heat tools like hair dryers, straighteners, or curling irons. Even if you’re not planning on using these tools, it’s still wise to have a hair protector against UVA rays or pollution.

Styling Tools and More
The supergiant Dyson did it so well, and many have followed suit. Now we’re ready to go with a touch of a hairdryer! With so many tools at our disposal, like drying brushes and straighteners for wet hair… what more could we ask for?

Heatless Curls
If you’re not a fan of using a lot of tools, relax! You can join the heatless curls movement. There are specific tools marketed for this purpose; however, practices like using a t-shirt or socks to wrap your wet hair before bed have also gone viral, so you can wake up looking like you just left the salon, full of curls.

Silk and Its Benefits
Silk has always been a highly valued material, though it’s true that it’s been more prevalent in the fashion world than in beauty. Nowadays, you can find hair ties, rollers, pillowcases… all made of satin. Their antibacterial properties (or, at least, their tendency to accumulate less) make them recommended for the health of your skin and hair, as they’re said to help combat hair breakage.

Perfume in the Hair? Yes, Please!
I’d say it all started with none other than Negin Mirsalehi launching her hair perfume with the brand Gisou (crafted with nothing less than natural honey from her family farm), and many brands have followed suit. In an era where we have products for everything, why would we keep letting perfume just hang in the air without making the most of it?

That’s all! I hope you enjoyed it, and leave me a comment letting me know which trend caught your eye. See you!
